About the Sudbury Horticultural Society
The Sudbury Horticultural Society is a not-for-profit charitable organization. We are devoted to the beautification of our community, the preservation of our environment, and sharing horticultural knowledge, information, and expertise. We were founded in 1911!
Our society is part of the Ontario Horticultural Association District 13, which includes fourteen societies covering the geographical area from Sault Ste. Marie to French River.
Through your local society, you are a member of the parent organization, the Ontario Horticultural Association, which is comprised of more than 270 local societies. The OHA arranges an annual three day convention, conducts province-wide competitions, and provides scholarships to students at the University of Guelph.
Constitution, By-Laws, and Code of Conduct
Each year the Society hosts horticultural shows which allow members to showcase their gardening skills. A number of awards are available to participants. They are awarded during the first Society meeting at the beginning of each year.
Over the years, the Society has received numerous award that recognize its contributions to the community.
