SUMMARY:April Society General Meeting + Speaker: Cassandra Miller
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our next public meeting at the Parkside Centre on Durham Street in Sudbury. Doors open at 1:15 pm for socializing and light refreshments. Please bring your own coffee mug or travel mug. \nThe meeting at 2 pm will feature our guest speaker Cassandra Miller who runs a small indoor plant business in Greater Sudbury called Small Pots. She will be presenting “Caring for Indoor Plants”. \nAbout Cassandra:\nPhoto of Cassandra Miller\nCassandra Miller is a retired dog groomer and plant enthusiast with a passion for helping people feel better and houseplants. Small Pots is her way of joining the two\, allowing her better mental health\, a healthy space for people to feel at home\, and an opportunity to show people they can grow their own amazing plants. \nIn her past experiences of purchasing plants\, finding the right pot to match her decor\, or proper soil to repot into to help new plants thrive was always an issue\, as well as proper advice and care on maintaining great growing conditions. Often purchasing the wrong plants for her space and left feeling defeated\, her goal was to offer low maintenance\, easy-to-care-for plants with easy to follow instructions\, at a reasonable cost and pots to go with\, to help any black thumb turn green. \nCassandra’s presentation will be on general plant care\, light\, water and soil needs. She will also discuss what to do with a new plant when you get it home\, repotting new plants\, choosing proper container size\, and fertilizing.
